Costa Rican Creek Hike Adventure

Hola! Como estas?  This morning I (Claudia) was the ONLY visitor that woke up to the loud howler monkeys.  We started this morning of with a delicious breakfast made by Jackie.  After breakfast the excursion groups began.  The creek hikers, with chaperones Greg, Perry, Tim, and Captain Morgan, traveled by bus to Rio Carbonero.  After stumbling over many rocks, dealing with scratches, and a few wardrobe malfunctions,  the hikers got the hang of a creeker's life.  After a long morning of hiking, we cooled off by wading in neck deep, fresh, cold water.  Most of the hikers enjoyed working together while maneuvering through difficult obstacles especially waterfalls. I (Annaliese) especially enjoyed finding interesting animals and jumping off large waterfalls. We all had a great time jumping off the waterfall Go Pro in our hands. (We will try to figure out how to post the videos to the blog) After we finished the creek hike we had a wonderful lunch of chicken and cheese quesadillas. We arrived back at the lodge and dispersed, doing man different activities including swimming on the beach, sleeping in the hammocks, and finding interesting animals. We closed of the night with dinner and a hilarious incident in which a frog ended up on Greg's plate.  We are having a great time with lots of laughs, fun, and sun.  We miss you all at home!

  1. Horseback riders? No stories? No updates? Get on it, girls!

PS I knew that those monkeys couldn't wake Avery - she lives with three of them!
